Old Tappan PTO Welcomes You.

The PTO is a group of very dedicated and selfless volunteer parents and teachers which organize parental participation within our Old Tappan school system.  The PTO, as you know, is a not-for-profit organization which raises funds through various fundraisers throughout the school year.

The Beach Ball dinner/dance was one such fundraiser and on behalf of the PTO, I would like to thank all of you that helped make the event a success!  Perhaps you donated an item to be auctioned, perhaps you attended the event or maybe you helped to set the venue up for the evening!  Whatever it was, it was appreciated and I am grateful.

Without volunteers and parents becoming involved with the PTO and their efforts, our children wouldn't have the many luxuries that they do.

Thank you so much for all of your dedication to the children in Old Tappan and for making our schools the best schools that they can be.

Courtesy of the PTO, the 2nd grade class will be taking their field trip to the Van Saun County Park in River Edge.  The students will explore 146 acres of gardents, animal exhibits and much more.

The children will depart from TBD at 9:00am and arrive back at school by 2:30pm on May 22nd.

Courtesy of the PTO, the 1st grade class will be visiting the Museum of Natural History in New York City.  The children will explore African mammals, fossils and learn about Earth and space.

The children will leave TBD at 8:45am and be back at school at 2:45pm.  The trip is on Friday, June 1st. 

Courtesy of the OTPTO, the annual International Dance Festival at CDW will be held on Wednesday, June 6th during both lunch periods.  In past years, the CDW student body and staff had the opportunity to try foods from various countries including Argentina, China, Cuba, Greece, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea & Thailand.

Courtesy of the PTO, the Freestyle Repertory Theatre/TheatreSports: Improv Your Mind will preform for the 7th & 8th grade classes.  The students will be exposed to the art of theatrical improvisation and be encouraged to participate with peers as a team.  They will learn the principles of improvisation: to look good, you must make others look good; to be safe, you must take risks; to be self-reliant, you must trust others; to be able to succeed, you must be willing to fail good-naturedly.

The assembly will be held in the Lynch Gym on Friday, June 8th at 10:15am for the 7th & 8th grade students.

Once again, the PTO will be taking orders for all students in TBD for a bagel lunch!  

Your child can order a plain bagel with either butter or cream cheese or a plain bagel with no toppings.  You can find the form in the MORE INFO section on the home page under FORMS.

Courtesy of the PTO, the 6th grade class will have the class trip to Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament at Lyndhurst Castle subsidised.  

The children will step back into the Middle Ages through medieval games of skill, spectacular horsemanship and even a jousting tournamnet featuring six brave Knights of the realm.

Spoon Me in Bi-State Plaze is offering 20% off to all TBD & CDW families as well as staff to celebrate the LAST DAY OF SCHOOL.
